Plan of Salvation

God, the Creator of the universe, loves you and wants to have a personal relationship with you. God set forth His plan of redeeming grace to reconcile you unto Him through the death, burial, and resurrection of His Son, Jesus Christ. This is called the gospel (good news) and believing in this message saves your soul from hell.

Are You Saved?

Steps:

1. Realize that we are all sinners and separated from God.

  • Romans 3:10 - As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one.

  • Romans 3:23 - For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.

2. Realize that the penalty for our sin is eternal death.

  • Romans 6:23 - For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

3. Realize that God sent His Son Jesus Christ to take our penalty and die on the cross for our sins.

  • John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

4. Realize that salvation is a free gift. No amount of “doing good” will find favor with God.

  • Isaiah 64:6 - But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

  • Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

5. Realize that you receive this gift by putting your faith and your trust in the sacrifice of Jesus Crist and accepting Him as your personal Savior.

  • Romans 10:9-10 - That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

  • Romans 10:13 - For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Are you ready to get baptized?

Baptism isn’t required for salvation, but it is the first step of faith for believers. The baptismal waters don’t save anyone, it’s Jesus that does that. Baptism is a picture of the work that Jesus has done in a person’s heart.

Baptism illustrates Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection as seen in 1 Corinthians 15:3-4. It shows our new life as a follower of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Baptism doesn’t make you a believer, it shows that you already are a believer.

Baptism doesn’t save you, Jesus does! Baptism is like a wedding ring, signifying a relationship rather than forming that relationship.

We follow Jesus’ example in baptism. He was baptized (Mark 1:9) and commanded us to be baptized (Matthew 28:19-20).

At Trinity Christian Church, we baptize by immersion. That’s the example we see throughout scripture, and it’s the basis for the meaning of the word “baptize” which means to immerse (or dip under) water.

Are you ready to be discipled?

Discipleship should be the heartbeat and priority of every New Testament believer.

After salvation, God’s desire for the believer is to be a disciple—someone who follows Jesus with their whole life. To help God’s will to be made real in every Christian’s life, we encourage everyone at Trinity to go through Biblical Discipleship.

Discipleship helps you build a biblical foundation for your life of faith.

When you agree to be discipled, someone will take you through the Bible one-on-one (or in a small group setting), walking through 18 basic, fundamental, and foundational topics of the Christian life. This one-on-one (or group) relationship with a mature believer helps someone grow in their knowledge of God’s word and see firsthand what it looks like to live it out.

The Four Goals of Discipleship are as followed:

1.Establish you in worship

Life on this earth wasn’t designed to be lived alone. Just as Christ lived life alongside His disciples, your discipler will walk alongside you and introduce you to the sweetness found in the fellowship of like-minded believers.

2.Establish you in the Word of God

God’s Word is your direct connection to our Lord and Savior who desires to have a personal relationship with you. Your discipler will help you navigate God’s Word and share tips on how to develop your walk with Christ.

3.Establish you in the Fellowship and Structure of the Church

We’re not just talking about church attendance (though that is part of it). We’re passionate about helping you plug into our church by becoming a member and investing your time, talents, and treasure in a ministry that is in line with your interests and spiritual gifts.

4.Establish you in the Ministry with us

Christ didn’t save us to live a mediocre life. Throughout the discipleship process, you’ll be encouraged to find and develop your God given gifts so you can begin impacting your sphere of influence as an ambassador for Christ.

We believe that God wants to use every believer in Jesus Christ to reach the world for His glory. This means that Trinity is devoted to equipping one another to live out the word of God in our community in the name of Jesus.
